  If you are just looking for a fair place to sleep this is it. Internet was out, pool is tiny, fitness ctr. weak, no bell service, not in the safest area (2 blocks outside French Quarter), room big, but dingy.

  Stayed from the Fri night before Mardi Gras through Fat Tuesday morning. Check-in was very fast & painless, and appreciated the on-line early check-in. Staff was very friendly, especially considering the fact that the hotel was completely full. Dining-wise, the food was very good, but one bad spot was a loooong wait one morning for breakfast, with many people ordering at the "counter" and a lack of organization in the kitchen. Location is great for Mardi Gras, between the Quarter (2 blocks) and Uptown (traditional parade route), but keep in mind that the parade route is fully barricaded Sat, Sun, and Mon evenings of the last weekend before Mardi Gras, and one cannot cross. Plan trips into the Quarter or to the river accordingly.

  Great hotel, X the manager was wonderful as well as the whole staff. They were always smiling and always at your beck and call. Absolutly will stay here again. Clean rooms, perfect location to Burbon St and quiet at night! Great job staff at HGI New Orleans!
