We just stayed there for a long four day weekend and while I will say the room was much smaller then I expected it met our needs. We were basically just looking for a clean comfortable room that we could sleep comfortably in and we got just that. The shower was nice and hot and it stayed that way the whole time. It was close enough to walk to the French Quarter and the other main attractions. We never ate at Luke but our friends and family did and they did not care for it at all. If you are looking for a hotel with ambiance and the whole New Orleans experience, I would stay somewhere else. Our friends stayed at the Montelone and it was hoping there. If you are looking for a nice quite place for a good price with no bells and whistles this place would be just fine. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Stayed at the hotel during the recent blizzard that hit the east coast over Christmas weekend. It made New Orleans unseasonably cold without the snow. Unfortunately the hotel is so old and it is not equipped to handle the cold. The thermostat was never able to go up above 69, no matter how high we set it. We called the front desk and they sent a maintenance guy up, but after he claimed to have fixed it, the temperature didn't go up. We called the front desk again, but the maintenance person had gone for the day. They offered to move us to another room, which we accepted, but the heat there wasn't much better. On the floor we were moved to, the elevator's down button didn't work. So to call the elevator we had to hit the up button and ride up to wherever the elevator was going and then ride it down, or we could take the service elevator, which was filthy. We reported the problem, but even the next day, they still hadn't fixed it. The hotel's restaurant Luke, was awful. They seated us next to the cold drafty back entrance (even though there were plenty of empty tables in non drafty areas), when we asked to be moved, but they said the other tables didn't have waiters working them. The food was served cold. The waiter was very attentive, but that didn't make it any better (especially with the high priced check). The only plus at the hotel was the 24hr fitness center which was nice and well equipped. Won't be going back there again. Take my advice and stay someplace new.

We stayed in this same hotel when it was the Hotel Monaco owned by Kimpton Hotels. It was great!!. Hilton now owns this and the quality is not the same. Toilet stopped up daily due to low pressure. Asked them to leave a plunger in the room and we would take care of it. They did not. Had to call housekeeping every morning. Spend $ on Room Service breakfast. They didn't leave any forks, knives, spoons, butter, salt or pepper. Took 15 additional minutes to receive these. At that point the breakfast was cold. Set a wake up call so we could be at the airport on time. The wake up call never came.Room safe would not work. All this was brought to their attention at check-out. No adjustments were made, just handed me my receipt. I would not recommend this hotel

We stayed here for a business conference. We were surprised at how small the rooms were upon check-in; asked if there was anything larger available and they informed us that all rooms were this size unless upgrading to a suite for additional $. Other than the size, they were well furnished and professionally decorated. Internet access is not included, so expect to pay extra for that. Nice toiletry items and soft towels were a plus. They staff was friendly and professional; were courteous and assisted me with locating a box and packing tape to ship items home. Went to their 4th floor biz office to ask about my airlines baggage rules; was promptly helped. They printed out the info from the airlines website without being asked to. Bellmen and other staff were exceptionally friendly, offering to carry bags and running to open doors. Ate 2 times in the hotel restaurant and found it to be pricey $$, but good. They pour a strong drink and offer pleasant conversation while you're sitting at the bar. Only complaint besides the small room is that there was no lobby with TV?s or sports bar; so we had to walk across the street to another's hotel bar to watch football games. Building was originally built by the Masons, so its foyer is pretty neat. Ask the bartender and they'll tell you about the building's history. It was renovated a few years back and is in good condition w/upgraded room furnishings. Location is 3-4 blocks from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.

Got a great weekend rate for two rooms. The service and friendliness of the staff was superior. The gentlemen out front and the front desk could not be more friendly. My mother loved the comfort of the beds. We dropped by the bar for a drink and chatted with the guys preparing the oysters. This is a great place and will make you feel comfortable.
