Upon our arrival, the first things we noticed were the gated entrances to the parking lot. Signs were displayed saying there would be a $* parking fee. I had made a reservation at this location instead of another because of the free parking. The other hotel revealed in their AAA list of features that they charged for parking.

My husband and I stayed here in 2007. We arrived at 11:30 am and was told we can't check in. We informed the desk clerk we were going to a Santa Cruz Island cruise and would not return till after 5 pm. She told us there wouldn't be a problem since we had reservation. Upon return, no room for us. Checked us in a room that was not what we reserved. Then they threw someone out of their room so we could have their room. I guessed the former guest was so pissed off, they dumped water all over the bed. We left to go to dinner, when returned, they gave our room to someone else. Our luggage were all over their office and some of our personal belongings were still in the room. No apology, nothing. We felt like we were treated like criminals. Will never return there.

My wife and I just visited Ventura for the first time and this hotel set the tone for a great relaxing vacation. We requested a room with a view of the harbor and a balcony which gave us beautiful sunsets and a real nautical feel for our stay. The breakfast was first class with a staff that seemed to anticipate every thing you could want or need. Our trip was to short to see and explore the Channel Islands, but we will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to do that.

We could not have been happier. We were met by a wonderful staff that were available for any questions or needs we had. We had a great room that was clean and comfortable. A full breakfast was included in our stay. Bay windows overlooked the marina. We're makiong plans to go back in a few weeks! Excellent value!

I used to stay at this Hotel all the time - but like most thing in Ventura - This hotel is going down hill - I found they have all kinds of different room rates so if you make the mistake of staying make sure you work them over I paid $*+ and talked to 3 othere people that pd from $ *to $* for rm's- The Front desk the worst I have ever come accross rude and the management is just as bad - the room I had there was gum in the carpet-bathroom was dirty hair and all kinds of nasty thing around the totial sicking - we cut are trip short after our run in with this place - Don't stay - it's OVER Priced and dirity -
