I was directed to this hotel after paying for what I thought would be a discounted price for an interesting hotel in Charleston. I was disappointed when my mini get away to the famed Charleston where hundreds of inns and hotels are located turned out to be a basic Holiday Inn - many miles away from but, technically, "in" Charleston. The other hotels in the area seem to have the decency to call themselves North Charleston which I knew I did not want to be that far away. The highlighted area of possible hotels was the whole area with a small corridor up the interstate and away from the desired area. I will be much more cautious with what is considered a 3 star hotel. The Holiday Inn was adequate for the baseball team lodged there, but not for the 3 star vacation we sought in Charleston.

I do not have negative things to say about the hotel, it was decent. However, I would like to say that it is not close to downtown. Mapping the location shows you are a few miles away, but by the time you factor in travel time, it ends up being 20-30 or more minutes to get to the attractions like Rainbow Row and other downtown places. Do yourself a favor, and book a place in downtown if you are wanting to see the sites and have everything in walking distance. It will probably end up saving you money on parking fees and the stress of driving in the downtown area, especially the stress! If you don't care about seeing the attractions, or being close to downtown, this hotel was okay. The staff were amazing- very friendly and helpful. The only reason I wouldn't stay here again is because it isn't downtown.

Easy to book with my special room requests. The Assistant General Manager - ABC - went out of his way to help us book a tour of Charleston with a very tight schedule. It worked out great!!. I should point out that the rest of the staff was absolutely great at check in with all of questions about the area. (Sorry I did not get their names.) From this location we were able to walk next door to a restaurant for dinner without having to get back into the car and drive after the long trip down. We definitely want to stay at this hotel again when we visit the area again. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN - need I say more!
