Just checked out today. The front desk people were extremely helpful on both the night shift and the day shift. They kindly suggested a better route to the Cleveland Clinic than we would have taken, which saved us time and hassle, a happy thing at 5:30 in the morning!. The room was spacious with tall ceilings. It's an old hotel, with enough updates to show off its wonderful bones and yet still have a clean modern bathroom. The only drawback was that, like many downtown hotels, the parking was in a structure across the street. The hotel rate was discounted from the regular parking rate, so that helped a little. We didn;t ask if there was valet parking and chose to self-park. It was a very short walk back to the hotel.

On our first trip to Cleveland we stayed at Holiday Inn Express Cleveland Downtown, from which I walked 5 blocks to meetings at the Renaissance Hotel next to the Tower building, past interesting restaurant and bar sites about midway on a side street. The hotel once was a bank, and the building is narrow and deep, yet I estimate our room measured about 900 square feet. Breakfast was generous, facilities were ample, staff was exceptionally helpful. From the Tower building, we took a train to the Airport for <$*; from the street island in front of the hotel, we took a bus direct to Severance Hall (for the Cleveland Orchestra). This was a valuable purchase.

The room was clean and had a terrific view. The free breakfast bar was OK, but for a caffeine fix, try the coffee shop down the street on 4th. Public Square and Terminal Tower are just a few blocks west. Pick up one of the free trolleys to get you within a couple of blocks of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Science Center, or any of the other attractions along Lake Erie. It's only a few blocks, but it's a long uphill walk to get back. I'd definitely stay again!

We arrived later than the average bear. The only rooms left were the suites. Room 1207 was a beautiful room with high ceilings and a jacuzzi tub. Front desk was very friendly. Hotel is about 8 blocks from rock and roll hall of fame and very close to restaurants and bars.My only complaint would be that the a.c. didn't seem to work at full capacity. Overall great hotel experience.
