Room * was where we spent the night. Upon entry of the outside door the hallway reeked of smoke as did our room. Upon check out I ask the clerk how long room * had been "non smoking" and he said 14 years or something like that. I ask why the room smelled so bad and his reply was that they had no way to stop anyone from smoking in the rooms, all they could do was charge them $* and then clean the room. I know that the room had not been cleaned for smoke, everything in there stunk and the wall paper was coming off the walls in all of the corners, the bath room caulk around the floor and the tub was a god awful color from being so old and the vanity was about a door to short. I liked nothing about the room at all, in fact I told the clerk he had a lot of nerve charging that much money for that room. He then told me in about 6 months they are going to fix all of that up, and redo all of the rooms. That doesn't help any of the current guest now does it?

We stayed here on 04/04/09 and regretted it as soon as we walked in. It was after 6:00 pm so we couldn't cancel, otherwise we would have. The rooms are far from sound proof and dingy as is the rest of the hotel. At breakfast, they had no cinnamon rolls, which are their signature item. The breakfast was so bad that we ended up getting food at the McDonalds next door. For the price we paid it was awful and really gives Holiday Inn a bad reputation.

I couldn't help but post this review after reading the others. I have stayed in this hotel twice to date and will not stay anywhere else when in Corbin. I have stayed in several hotel/motels in that area and Holiday Inn is the VERY BEST! I had no problem with smoky rooms or corridors. The staff were very helpful. I travel with children and the KidSuites are AWESOME! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

smoking and non smoking rooms were next to each other could smell smoke in entry way and hallway sometimes in the room. quite rooms no doors slamming, didn't hear any toliets flushings or showers. nice handicap bathroom. comfortable chair in room. nice selection of pillows. liked the sleeper sofa in the handicap room. stingy with the toliet paper. who would want to steel that sorry stuff they use.
