All we wanted was a clean bed to sleep in. We are not very picky people. The only thing we did get was a clean bed. First thing, the clerk didn't want to honor the price I was quoted in my telephone reservation and tries to raise my rate $*/night. Second this is no way a "lodge". It looks like a motel 6 with exterior room door entrances that was repainted. The inside is stuck in the 1970's and has a similar odor. Third, the toilets don't work. The one in our room wouldn't flush more than a trickle, and it takes a full 5 minutes to refill the tank. We resorted to using the bathroom in the lobby and sadly that toilet functioned the same way there. The grout isn't dirty in the bathroom, it was flat out missing. Nice sharp edges to the ceramic tiles. Fourth, we refused to use the pool and the waterslide. As we read in other reviews, it is a safety hazard. We agreed wholeheartedly after watching some kids go down it and watched it sway back and forth. Seriously rickety and should be condemned by the City. We will never stay here again, and hope no one else does either. It is extremely over priced and full of false promises.

We are a family of 5, and we had a great stay while we were in town for a wedding. The pool/slide was great to keep the kids entertained. The complimentary breakfast was definately worth getting up for, and the staff was always friendly and efficient and willing to go the extra mile. Thanks for making our stay!!

This is a great hotel. We enjoyed the breakfast, the pool, and the slide was especially fun. There were two hot tubs. One was cooler than the other one, which was good if you don't like your tub really hot. It was close to Glacier National Park entrance, and only a few blocks from downtown Whitefish. The staff was very helpful. The only negative would be the air conditioner, it was a bit loud, but acceptable (typical hotel air conditioner).

Big Mountain Lodge (formerly Holiday Inn Express) in Whitefish, Mt. is one of the best values for the money. Always clean, staff is friendly and helpful! Each afternoon, freshly baked cookies and tea (free of charge) are available in lobby. Easy access from airport and to downtown Whitefish or Kalispell.
