Wonderful Experience
03/28/2011We spent 6 nights and had no complaints. the front desk was well staffed at all hours and the staff was wonderful. the shuttle service was excellent.

We recently stayed at this hotel and picked it because of its proximity to the Arena and French Quarter. The first day we were there, the hotel shuttle wasn't working and no one seemed to know anything about the local bus routes or other public transportation. When the hotel shuttle was working it only went to three localtions, two of which were actually within walking distance, and only dropped off (no pck up). We booked a non-smoking room and were given a smoking room, but told it was non-smoking despite the number of ashtrays in the room. On our last day, we arranged to have a taxi take us to the airport (no airport shuttle) and depsite waiting in the hotel lobby for 15 minutes before the taxi arrived, the front desk clerk sent them away becase "she didn't call for a taxi." Unbelievable! Never have stayed in such a poorly run hotel much less Holiday Inn!

The front desk was rude and helpless, the pool's water very dirty...we all had eyes infected right after enjoyed this wonderful pool. The internet connection was so slow, wasted about 30 minutes in there and can't even get in my mail account , they have a piece of junk computer there... need to be upgraded. Parking fees was not included with hotel room, you will be charged $* a night , breakfast is not free like they said , We have to pay $* just for some bacons, scramble eggs and juices for a family of 5 people. I 'd rather go to a fast food restaurant like mcdonald . We're certainly will not come back and stay at this hotel again.

Overall it was a decent place to stay. The room and bathroom were very clean. Bed was amazingly comfortable. I dont think the pool was heated, although it was November the air temp was 75-80 and sunny, so swimming seemed like a great idea, but the pool was too cold. Also, there is no view of the Superdome from the pool, which i was looking forward to seeing but you could not. Also, surrounding area was a bit run down. The walk to and from the French Quarter was not bad at all distance wise, but at night, I would not advise women to walk alone. There was an hourly shuttle available to take guests to and from the Quarter, but most prefered to walk. Also the shuttle stops at 10pm. If you are on a budget and looking for a clean place to stay in walking distance to the Quarter its not a bad deal. Superdome is a block away, you can't see it from the hotel as advertised, but its there!

Motel was 10 blocks from casino 12 blocks from convention center, but provided hourly shuttle to Casino, Convention Center and French Quarter. Restaurant - bare necessities. Place was clean and employees very helpful. Lots of run down buildings adjacent - wouldn't walk around by myself, but shuttle took care of that problem.
