Perfectly located with the beach across the street behind one set of buildings, the International Market Place wrapping around the property. More affordable than the condo we also stayyed at. Our room did not have a kitchen but we weren't there to cook. The room was clean & comfortable. The staff went out of it's way to accomodate us; upon arriving after a long flight,we found much of the area being evacuated due to a tsunami warning. Most of the shops, restaruants, beaches, and roads were being closed. The following morning when the wait staff still was unable to return to work, the head cook already on sight prepared breakfast in a self serve buffet style to meet the needs of us hungry souls. The only down side was each morning around 3 am riff- raff would raise a ruckous in the parking garage next door. With our lani door to enjoy the night air this noisse made it difficult to sleep. Close the door or use ear plugs because this beyond the control of hotel personnel. A number of reasonable restuarants are nearby and only couple blocks walk stores that cater to people with more money than sense.( or is it cents.) Everything is within walking distance, or easy access to mass transit, your room key card gets you access to pinkline trolley around all of Waikiki- 10 days andwe never needed a rental car.

The room was very nice and quite clean. We had a fairly good view of Waikiki Beach. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Margueritaville Restaurant was right in the hotel and very handy. Beware of parking costs at this hotel! Travel agency description of parking fees said * per day. After I booked the hotel it changed hands and became a Holiday Inn. The parking concession is run separately and was * per day! We only parked in the lot for two nights and had to pay *. Street parking is not an option.

Dated from the 70's and the rooms are very small. We were on a no smoking floor but we smelled smoke every morning when we went out. We only stayed here two days to experience Waikiki and then rented a beach house up the North Shore to experience the rest of the island. The location of the hotel was pretty good, but the parking fee of the $* a day was pretty high. Toilet leaked and mgmt didnt really do anything since we werent there long. If we were to go to Oahu again, I would pick a different hotel.

Holiday Inn Beachcomber Resort was even better than I expected! My expectations are high, (I have worked many years in luxury resort properties, I am currently in the hospitality industry, and I travel quite often), so I expect a lot. Traveling to Hawaii last minute and traveling alone, this hotel is absolutely perfect. The location is ideal for easy beach access, with the best shopping right outside your door. The staff is very friendly and focused on making their guests feel welcomed and happy, (which is huge!). The room was on the 7th floor providing a view of the ocean from the balcony, (I highly recommend getting a room above the 4th floor so you don't overlook the roof)! Newly remodeled, the room was everything I expected from a Holiday Inn...not a cheap, cramped, dirty room which are definitely out there! Very clean, comfortable bed, wonderful shower, and great housekeeping. Spending 4 nights in Hawaii, you want all of these things to be in place and they are here! Reasonably priced you know not to expect all of the bells & whistles of a luxury property, so keeping that in mind, if you want to watch your budget but still have a great hotel to stay in, this is your place! Also, I had a "red-eye" flight, so I was able to use a Hospitality room to freshen up prior to my flight even though I had already checked out. This I found to be a tremendous added bonus to my already wonderful stay!! I know I will definitely be returning to this hotel again!
