Not so good
03/20/2011I booked a room for 3 adults but after checking in, we found there was no extra bed, no microwave oven and no fridge... however, river view is beautiful.

Don't stay here

We arrived and our room had black hair all over the bathroom floor & shower. We asked them to clean it & they didn't get it done until the next day. The room was showing it's age, the carpet smelled and there was trash on the balcony. Beds were reasonably comfortable. Our river walk view was a big tree. Breakfast buffet was good and kids ate free. Customer service was fair. With several new hotels being built on the river walk, I'd check them first.

We have been to the riverwalk 3 times and have stayed in other hotels. We took the kids this time so wanted to stay a little cheaper. This hotel was "ok". It was having some maintence done and outside construction hampered our access from the hotel to the riverwalk. The room was comfortable and at a good price, but the view was less desirable. We paid for the 'river' view, but didn't like to look at the abondoned warehouse(not so pretty) and not much traffic on that end of the river.

We visit S.A. at least twice annually, and usually stay on the Riverwalk. This hotel had a nice room, courteous staff(with 1 exception), Parking was a big problem. On returning from a dinner party around 11 P.M. on Saturday, the hotel parking was clogged with cars and no spaces available. We were forced to park in public parking garage 11/2 blocks away. night hotel manager apologetic and blamed nearby theater goers using the hotel parking(no apparent attempt to stop them. My bill was discounted for the stated foul up. Since I plan a return trip in Sept., I attempted to discuss parking with day manager the next morning. This individual was flippant, condescending, and basically blew me off. She stated ""This happens every weekend, we don't guarantee a parking place. If you can't park we just take the $16 charge off your bill."" I tried to state the different perception of the night manager, but she obviously wasn't listening, so I checked out and left. My return stay in Sept will most certainly be at a different hotel. Too many good hotels in the area to deal with that kind of hassle.

Arrived to our room to find long black hair all over the shower, toilet, and bathroom floor. Called housekeeping twice but wasn't cleaned until the next day. Carpet was damp & smelled bad; balcony was not clean. Paid extra for a river-view room and had a great view of a tree. Beds and linens were ok. The room was starting to show some age. There was no complimentary breakfast, but the buffet was good and kids ate free. Good location- close to the riverwalk without having a lot of foot traffic right outside the window. Probably would not stay here again. They're so many new hotels being built that I'd look elsewhere first.
