  We were desperate because our initial hotel choice - the Econolodge in Montpelier was absolutely disgusting and we had our dogs. The Hollow turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It is an older hotel but the rooms are huge, included fridge & micro and had comfortable beds. It was clean and the folks were friendly. The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment so we passed on that but overall we felt good about our stay. We stayed 3 days and on the second day we had new curtains and when we were checking out they were bringing new furniture in. There were guys working on the grounds so they definitely were working on keeping it up.
