This review is in responce to staying at the orlando-Altamonte Springs homestead suites, not the wonderful people at travel Agency. When we arrived, we were rudely told that the room we paid for with travel agency was no longer available. They then charged us $*.00 to upgrade and told us they did not care if it was late at night and that we could take it up with travel agency. The back security door was broken and the rooms were filthy. They refused to bring us new towels and we were treated rudely by three different employees. The only positive was the customer service with Travel agency in dealing with the manner, and meating our new born neice.

First off, do not believe the map that the hotel provides. There is no Lake Springs Drive. The address on Northlake is correct. It is the first hotel after turning off 436/Semoran Blvd. There is no parking out front and if you drive to the back and park you cannot enter from the back since you need your room key (actually the room key did not work on the furthest back door either!). Aside from getting lost and having to walk from the back parking lot in the unseasonably cold weather and then finding out I booked a smoking room and that the hotel was FULL (?) so that I could not change, everything after that went all right. We got no maid service, but that was okay. The smoking room was not too smelly and it was big with a working microwave, ice in the freezer, coffee pot etc. Our room looked out onto a nice Florida swamp with egrets (oh, and onto I4, but the sounds were well muffled). I would book again.

I really would not stay here again. Having allergies and being allergic to cigarette smoke I opted for a non-smoking room. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. The staff was very kind and accomodated me by giving me a room that was truly a non-smoking room. I went out to dinner and came back to the new room but the hallways were full of cigarette smoke so if you have allergy problems (especially to cigarette smoke) please do not stay here. I am writing this review just one week after my stay and am still very sick because of this.

This is my 4rth or 5th stay here in the last 5 years. It is clean and well kept. The rooms are a good size and the kitchen area is alway a bonus. The staff is helpful and friendly. It has easy access to the I-4, and lots of conveniences close by. The only thing that would make this property better is a pool.
