We came to this hotel for a convention. From the start the service was horible. The front desk staff were some of the most stuck up and unprofessional people I have met. For this supose to be such a 'high end' hotel that they kept telling us it was, the hotel never bothered to train the staff on customer service. I have never felt so looked down on before in my life. For the price of the room, you could easily stay somewhere else, just as nice and much more friendly. The rooms are decorated in the southwest style, but are just as nice as a Marriott or another hotel. The cafe was also way over priced. There is no breakfast, newspapers, parking, or anything complementary. Again, the staff was just so unfriendly. I can't truely expalin the level of unfriendlness. They really do not care about the customer. It is almost like they think they are entitled. Will never stay there again. If our yearly convention is back here again, we will stay somewhere else.

When we checked in, they put us on a room with the bed facing directly(straight) to the sun. We could not read on the bed, because we couldn't open the eyes. Also the TV is by the left side of the bed. when we watched TV, we had to turn our neck left. We had to request to change the room otherwise after 5 days stay, we would have to see the chiropractice to straight our neck back to normal. How could they sell this room to the customer ?

This is a nice hotel next to Old Town (art galleries, craft shops, etc). Our room, a standard one, was nice, clean, and in good condition. The room was also very reasonably priced. The service at their in-house Mexican restaurant (Cafe La Plazuela), however, was slow the few times we ate there. The fitness room was good. In addtion to the standard cardio machines, it had a multi-station weight machine and some dumbbells for those who like to lift. Because the hotel also houses a convention center, there is plenty of free, street-level parking. If we were in the area again and wanted to stay by Old Town, we would definitely consider the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town again.

Hotel is situated within walking distance from Old Town which is a great place to shop. It is a ten minute car or bus ride to the zoo, aquarium, a lovely park and Japanese garden. Great restaurants are in the area and they are also within walking distance. We had a great time staying there.

You have to pay for internet and nothing is included with this place. After staying at mainly Marriott hotels - this was a real disaster of a place. Quaint - yes - but I prefer to not have questionable stains on upholstery that I sit on. Also, shelf was broken in bathroom so no storage for personal items. Recommend people stay in the newer area of town and steer clear of the "tourist trap" area that this is near. Found another Sterling hotel in Santa Fe called Hotel Plaza Real - AVOID THIS AT ALL COSTS TOO! We tried to cancel immediately when we saw where it was (Tourist Trap Hell) full of 1-way streets. They informed us that there is a 72-hour cancellation policy. Perhaps our fault but upon arrival - we should not have had to stay there if we found it sub-standard. They said they would still bill us for 1-night stay. So we stayed and said we'd check out early (not do the 2-night reservation) - guess what...they charged us $50 to check out early! Totally turned us off of ALL STERLING HOTELS. BEWARE! You pay for parking, Internet, everything! No bottle water in room, no included continental breakfast or newspaper. And RUN DOWN! Snotty staff really made our day.
