I love the Kimpton brand of hotels. Having stayed at just about all of them in the DC/NoVA area I have to rate the Palomar at Rosslyn as one of my favorites. The rooms have modern decor, iHomes, and are large in size. The beds are very comfortable. I had trouble with the heat adjusting but one call to the front desk and the head of engineering came by to make sure that I knew how to adjust the setting to keep me comfortable. The restaurant is good, but closes early on Saturday, the bar stays open with a decent bar menu. The staff is wonderful and Palomar has some of the friendliest and most helpful staff. The location right outside of the bridge and a quick walk to Georgetown. It is across from the Orange/Blue line metro (Rosslyn) and this makes this a wonderful place to stay. Overall, this hotel provides a great deal when you have business in DC and don't want to pay the higher prices.

The Palomar Hotel was delightfully wonderful. The room was commodious, the amenities lovely, and the beds most comfortable with quality bedding (duvets and ample pillows). It was classy and clean and most convenient for where we wanted to go in DC. I heartily recommend this boutique hotel.

Just returned from DC for the Halloween weekend. I must say that this hotel exceeded my expectations. Location is great for those who want to be away from the hustle of the city, but still close enough to access all the DC monuments. There is no need to rent a car. I flew into Reagan and hopped on the metro. The metro ticket cost $* one way. The Rosslyn metro station stop takes you within two blocks of the hotel is only a ten-minute ride from the airport. As far as the room, it was very clean, quiet and cozy. Trust me folks, I tend to be a clean freak. So when I say this hotel was one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in, believe it. The bed could have been more comfortable (firmer). It was very plush though and I still managed to get a good nights rest. I loved the bathroom and the fact that the lighting had a dimmer switch. The hotel wine reception was great and takes place each evening at 5pm. I highly recommend that travelers take advantage of this feature. It is hosted in the living room area of the hotel. And you can take your glass of wine back to your room in case you are not in the mood to socialize with the other travelers. Finally, the food in the restaurant is $$$$ but good. And, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance. So, all in all, hotel is fabulous. In fact, I am already planning my next trip back.

We recently stayed at the Palomar in the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia and found it to be quite lovely. The front desk staff couldn't of been more helpful and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our room was HUGE and although we saw small children entering rooms on either side of us we NEVER heard them. The location of the hotel is wonderful. Right near the Key Bridge with a walking route to Georgetown shops, etc.. It's right near the Rosslyn T stop and has easy access to the airport and DC. The only think I noticed that this hotel might improve on is the upkeep of the rooms. It's a fairly new hotel so I was surprised to see the black fingerprints on the white closet doors and fronts of furniture. A little more care in keeping these areas looking fresh would be worthwhile.

We were less than impressed with the hotel staff. There were a couple of staff members who would go above and beyond; but for the most part, we felt like we were an inconvenience to them. The room was nice and comfortable with great modern decor. The highlight of the hotel was their wine shop.
