The historical Hotel Pas De Calais is located approximately a mile from the Paris Opera and the Louvre and 15 miles from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Childebert the 1st founded the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres in 543. The street was a lane until 1652 when it was named Rue des Saints-Peres. Number 59 was built around 1750 as a mansion house; it was known as the Hotel de La Vallette, Parisian residence of the famous writer and poet Chateaubriand. It was transformed into a hotel in 1815 and is one of the oldest buildings of that type in Paris. It has belonged to the same family since 1922. Since then, it has received famous guests such as Sartre, de Beauvoir, Greco, and others. Hotel amenities include the courtyard garden and sitting area. Some beverages can be served 24 hours a day. The hotel also offers room service, national and international newspapers, and laundry service. The staff can book shows, restaurants, and excursions for guests, as well as organize transportation from the train stations and the airports to the hotel. There are six rooms on site. All rooms are equipped with ADSL, customized decoration, complete bathrooms, individual safes, hairdryers, air-conditioning, and cable TV.
