Hotel is old, but everything works; it's clean, and staff is friendly. 24 hour restaurant is good and hot breakfasts are free each morning. Price is certainly right, but in exchange for that, you're a long walk from fancy, downtown areas - or take a cab - we did both. At first glance the neighborhood appears seedy, but we encountered no security-type problems during 3 night stay. Some staff speak English, but not all. If you speak Spanish, which we do not, I think you'd be more at ease, especially the ladies. Guests appear to be very nice people. Hotel has free parking in a small garage about a block away - check with front desk or bellhop. We rented a car for 24 hours, and although I'm a professional driver myself, I'll tell you it is a very hairy experience. There is no order to most of the streets - even the Garmin gets lost! Traffic control devices such as traffic lights are few and far between and the locals drive like madmen with one hand constantly on their horns. Pedestrians walk in the street whenever they want. It's like a big game of bumper cars although we amazingly saw no accidents.

I stayed at this hotel in February 2010. The room was filthy dirty, the hot water didn't work. In an attempt to rectify the situation the hotel did nothing. I spoke with the manager and he offered me a free breakfast the next day. I only stayed one day! I insisted on a refund. They balked but finally relented when I said that I would report this to web. I was told that they would refund my tariff who would in turn refund me since I made this reservation on the website. Well, they LIED! I was never refunded. This place is a DUMP and an inslult to any self-respecting traveller. Don't go there.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Colon (for a cruise) and also for one night on the return. This is not a place I'd recommend for Americans! The staff did not speak/understand much English, the rooms were not clean and it is located in a very scary neighborhood.

Overall the hotel was not that bad for the going prices of rooms in Panama these days. Staff was courteous and security on site 24 hours; hotel common areas and rooms were generally clean. The room I stayed in did not have a window, but did have wireless internet connection. If you are planning on utilizing the hotel airport shuttle keep in mind the it does not operate on Sundays, and if you have an early flight you need to consider another means of transportation because the shuttle does not start daily operations until 8:00AM.
