We stayed here prior to our cruise. The hotel was very clean, the staff was terrific,, the continential breakfast was very good. It is located near the train station which made it very convenient for getting to Civitavecchia to board the ship. It is also close to the tram and bus station which we caught each day to go sightseeing. We had the hotel set up a tour for us which picked us up at the hotel. The hotel has a small bar which was nice each evening to relax after a full day of sightseeing. There are local resturants which were very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is small but satisfactory for the four nights we were there. We thought that it was closer to the principal attractions but with the bus and tram so close it worked out for us. We would recommend it and would stay again.

Not sure if I would stay here for an extended period of time, but one or two nights is fine. Not elaborate, but for the price, well worth it. If flying into Rome for a cruise and your plans are to get to the port on your own, Trastevere is the area where you would change trains (Airport - Trastevere - Civitavecchia). My wife and I came in a day early for a cruise. We bought 2 train tickets to Trastevere. The beauty of this hotel is that it is real close to the train station. Just beware that there is a slight incline as you walk to the hotel and then a set of approx. 40 steps to climb to get up to the street where the hotel actually sits (I had 2 suitcases and my wife had the carry ons). After checking in and resting a while, we caught the tram just down the block from the hotel that took us into Rome (there's also a bus you can take). We spent the evening in Rome and then returned to the hotel with no problem. The room was comfortable and the next day there was a very decent continental breakfast. Then it was a quick walk to the train station where we bought tickets to Civitavecchia.
