$*/night for a suite sounded great. Greeted by a very nice but drunk front desk person who was very new at the job. The first room he sent me too wasn't a suite. Then he sent me to a suite where the bed wasn't made. Finally got to a suite and found it barely cleaned. Glasses had obvious crud on them. The bathroom fan was hanging from the ceiling. Accommodations were dated and kind of dirty too. The fitness room had an inoperable treadmill, stationary bike and TV with no picture. Continental breakfast muffins tasted old. Had to ask twice for maid service where they only replaced towels and toiletries.

This hotel was fine, it just needs a little updating. Everything seemed to be clean, we went to the State Fair and stayed at this hotel. We had a little bit of a hard time finding it, b/c it was in behind the truck stop(if we would have been paying attention we would have seen it from the interstate.) If you were to be on the backside, you're right there at the interstate so I could see it being noisy!

We look for a hotel that is clean and inexpensive, as we like to spend the whole day at theme parks when we go. We need a clean bed and bathroom, no fancy swimming pools, or exercise areas. HO JO in Ashland worked for us. The price was almost less than half than those on property at Kings Dominion, so we gave this one a try. It is in area where there are a lot of truck stops, but looks like this is the norm for this area. No restaurant on site, but Applebee's, Subway, McDonald's and Wendy's are a half minute away. The continental breakfast that was included was filling enough for us, cereal, juice, coffee, muffins, and you could make your own waffle, which was very good. Staff was very friendly. We ended up with a home office suite that had a refrig, kitchen, couch and microwave -- which would be great for a family. The refrigerator needed to be cleaned on the sides, as it was dirty and looked a little moldy from the humidity -- but the inside was clean. Our sheets were clean, but had a small hole in it -- and the towels could be replaced -- as they are getting worn and scratchy --but they were very clean. The air conditioning worked amazingly well during the hot weather and we slept very comfortably.

I always stay at Marriott Hotel. Tried this HoJo for the first time, no where near Marriott quality but was decent for the price. The staff was friendly, hotel has no thrills, just your basics. We checked in at 11:30 pm, slept, showered, and checked out at 11:00 am. Beds aren
