I feel bad saying anything bad about the hotel, because the staff was extremely welcoming and nice. I was traveling with my 2 year old and didn't really feel completely safe. (I think I was 1 of very very few people staying here) I had to exchange my room for a non-smoking after I checked into my room. The original one was way too musty and dingy. They were great with switching me over. The beds did not have normal blankets like most hotels. Each bed had a random woven throw blanket. (My first room's blanket was a picture of a boyfriend and girlfriend. I found it very strange and NOT comforting) The cable was out so each station wwas fuzzy. On a good note, the shower had great water pressure, the hotel was literally a hop and a skip away from the Ovens Auditorium and the breakfast was pretty good. (even though you were not allowed to leave the room with your bagel or muffin!) If I were to travel alone with my child again, I think I would spring for the nicer chain hotel with a better feeling. But all in all if money were more an issue and I didn't care as much, I would stay here again. It is a great deal.

The room was nice. Clean, but I wasn't very comfortable on the bed. (I very rarely sleep well on hotel beds) I LOVED the shower. Finally a shower that has water pressure behind it. The price is right and it is fairly close to most major highways. I would probably stay here again if I had to. My two biggest complaints are these. The wireless internet did not work in the room. You needed to sit in the lobby to get a signal. My other complaint is stupid, but it really got under my skin. You are not allowed to leave the breakfast area with any food. I had a very early business meeting that I was running late for and I wasn't allowed to take a muffin to eat in the car. I can understand if I was taking a ton of food with me, but come on, a single muffin!

The stay wasn't bad but the room was relatively small. There definitely wasn't a microwave or refrig like their website suggested but it was clean. The water took a long time to heat up and it definitely has a older feel to the room. The previous comment about it being in an awkward location was correct. Located on a one way portion of the highway, you have to loop around it you miss it. Overall, the place, at best was decent. If money is an issue then this isn't a bad place...but if you have a few more pennies to spend, I would look elsewhere. The bright spot is that the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and exchanged my smoking room for a non-smoking room. Kukdos!! Traveler from Charleston, SC

I found my stay here to be of really great value. The room met my most important criteria of no room stench, nice bed, and a clean bathroom. All the fixtures inside were very nice and comparable to more expensive places. I was visiting all areas of Charlotte and liked the Inn's central city position, although I found driving back to the Inn awkward and difficult due to its street placement. I found the staff to be pleasant. I would recommend this.
