We started visiting this property several years ago, when it wasn't very crowded, and we keep coming back. Our last visit was this past weekend, and it was the first time we came back after the property updates. The rooms look great with the new decor, and it seems like more people have discovered the resort. The grounds and pool are as nice as ever, and the front desk and hotel staff still very pleasant, courteous and efficient. When it is crowded, the food service at the pool bogs down severely. The staff is very nice and working very hard, but the kitchen must be very small because they have trouble keeping up with the volume of orders. If you complain, the staff will bend over backwards to make you happy, and they are always courteous and friendly. Besides the slow food service at the pool, breakfast and lunch in the restaurants are nice. We usually drive off the property to eat dinner. The kids love the outdoor fireplace for S'mores (OK, this adult loves it too, LOL). You can buy the "kit" at the gift shop, or bring your own supplies. It's cool that the resort is dog-friendly, but we had some kids in our group with allergies, so we requested rooms outside the pet wing. We will return in the future.

What a great resort. Spacious, walking/running paths, beautiful stretch of river, nice pools, great lounge, good food (especially the breakfast buffet). But one thing to be aware of....pets are allowed. We had two rooms, which were very nice, but they put us among several rooms with dogs, some large. Both mornings we were there, dogs started barking at 6am. Since there were so many dogs on our wing, I assume they were restricted to that area, but we were not advised that we would be staying in the wing with dogs. The staff was very kind to refund us $*/night for the inconvenience.

I have stayed at the Hyatt on 5 separate occasions for the same conference. The service is outstanding, the rooms are beautiful and comfy, and the facility is oustanding. Not enough good can be said about the Hyatt. It is worth mentioning that the rooms have recently been redone (since our September 2008 visit) - new flat-screen TVs, new carpet and wood flooring, new furniture, and new bedding. If anything disappoints, it is the food, but only because it is just OK and not up to the high standards we've come to expect from this property. Nice perks include the outside fireplace that is lit each evening - great for making s'mores (Kits sold in the gift shop.), indoor/outdoor pools, "dive in" movies, hot tub, mini golf, outside pavillions for various events, and, of course, the golf course. Another nice perk - the hotel is pet-friendly!! I would definitely visit this property again for a long weekend with my husband and our 2 small dogs.

02/03/2008Only had problems with food service at the pool...very slow, poor quality but they got us new food and took care of it....chef is a great guy.....loved ...
only had problems with food service at the pool...very slow, poor quality but they got us new food and took care of it....Chef is a great guy.....loved the fireplace at night...pools during the day and night...great bar, bar staff could use some training, i travel alot and get tired of staff talking to each other just as they would if they were alone, but its my HUGE petpeeve...great rooms....wonderful views, we are returning as soon as the weather gets warm...cannot wait to play golf!!
