I am a solo traveler, so bare necessities is what I want. This place fit the bill, with a $* a night price. I stayed in one of the economy rooms which had a bed, bath, and not much else. Up the rickety staircase to the second floor. Family business, which I alway like to see. I did have a bad experience with the shower the first morning... NO HOT WATER! The next morning, I woke up extra early and got my fair share of the hot water. The location is ok, about 15-20 min from Bar Harbor, but there is a AWESOME Lobster place right down the street, Lunts Gateway. Highly recommend it.

I really liked this motel that I plan on staying again in a month. Although the room was small, it was very clean and cozy. It was good for an overnight stay, any longer it would probably be too small. Good location. The owner was very nice. I felt very safe.

We stayed in cabin 6 which had two beds. These cabins are about the size of a motel room yet you get your own private building...no slamming doors. We have been to maine many times and rented many of these types of places...all typically smallish and rustic...this was very clean and the cost was a good value for the 4 of us with breakfast included, great coffee!

You can do better.. would not stay again
10/31/2009Clean and staff very nice... but old..old... right on busy road with no sound insulation in old cabins.... i could determine the make and model of each truck driving ...
Clean and staff very nice... but old..old... right on busy road with NO sound insulation in old cabins.... I could determine the make and model of each truck driving by all night. Yes price was cheap... but there are several places nearby that where in better condition.

What we expected
08/10/2009Room was comfortable and clean and owner was very pleasant and helpful. we ran the air-conditioner/fan because of the traffic noise which started about 5:00 a.m.
