We live in San Antonio and wanted to get away one final time before school started. We found a decent rate on-line ($* for a standard room) so decided to go. I found the level of customer service to be very poor. Staff had to be stopped in their tracks to get help. Service around the pool area was extremely slim. Although they have several waitstaff in the area there were too many people for it to be effective. We did find the prices for food and drinks to be very reasonable though. Overall it was a "fair" experience but we didn't have to drive very far and we got the cheapest rate. The standard room is very small. Since we travel with our two children we are used to hotel rooms w/ two queen size beds vs. two double beds. The beds were comfortable enough and we had no problem getting a good nights rest after several hours in the water park area. The following morning there was a 45 minute wait at the Cibolo Moon buffet so we hoofed it next door to the clubhouse. Food was ok b ut not much selection for the price. Service there was extremely slow as well.

We were looking to spend all of our time at the property...and this was a great choice. Plenty of entertainment for the kids and the large "Water Park" was more than I could have expected. Certianly a savings from going to a local water park with same amenities. The staff was gracious and had there was alot of them. There were always plently of lifegaurds and waitstaff at every turn. It was refreshing to see "free" kids entertainment as well...with "Hamster Balls" and "Booger Wars"....which the kids loved! I can see where crabby adults not wanting to hear or see kids might be concerned..but it was such a large property....I never felt that I couldnt find a quiet corner...even in the pool!

We really enjoyed our Anniversary stay at this resort. It is a great escape for a couple or for the family. The hotel is super clean and the service is awesome. We really enjoyed the gorgeous views of the Texas Hill Country. The water park was also great. I was pleasantly surprised with the water slides. There were hardly any lines (on a Saturday in the summer) and we also enjoyed floating the lazy river listening to the "Texas" music. We also had a great anniversary dinner at Cibolo moon. The beds are super comfy with lots of cushy pillows. I can't wait to bring the kids!

It's a beautiful property but this hotel can't decide what it wants to be - and the guests suffer. The pool area is huge. On the surface, that's great. However, if you want to keep track of smaller kids, you can't do it from your pool chair. You can go for 30 minutes or more without ever seeing them. 6 acres for a pool complex is just too big. On the other end of the spectrum, the restaurants are so busy trying to be "upscale" that they almost ignore the kids. Yes, they have the obligatory "kids menu" with a few items on it, but the rest of the food is nouveau cuisine that most tweens would not touch. Bison Meatloaf is interesting to me, but my 10 year old isn't going to eat it. In addition, the restaurants are understaffed. It seems the hotel spent all of its money on lifeguards for the oversized pool area. One evening, we tried to eat on the patio of the (again upscale) sports bar. There were only 6 people out there, with 12-15 tables empty. Regardless, we were told there was a 40 minute wait. When we asked why, they said they didn't have enough staff. Bingo! Finally, since we were there for a conference, we hosted some customers for golf. When we arrived at the practice tee to hit a few balls, there was an odor so pungent, we had to leave and go straight to the first tee. Apparently, the resort and course had just laid down some sort of manure-based fertilizer that was so rank it immediately triggered your gag reflex. It was the talk of the resort. And, this was on a Friday, during their busiest time. I won't return.
