I stayed here in December 2009 while diving out of Islamorada, in the Keys. Usually I stay at the Econolodge just a block away, but I went for the $*-less price. Big mistake. My car, parked right outside the door to my room, was broken into one night--they broke the window and stole $* worth of stuff (GPS, iPod) that I was dumb enough to leave out. These things happen, so I'm not complaining about that. However, there are no security cameras, lighting is poor in the parking lot, and the clerk must have been asleep or, who knows, in on it. The managers response was to point to a big sign that they are not responsible for stuff left in cars. He had no other interest in my situation. Nice. Later I found out ANOTHER iPod, which I'd purchased as a gift and left in the room, was missing. I very, very thorougly had searched the room before I left to make sure nothing was left behind, so....well, it was just suspicious. As I jerry-rigged a fix on my broken window so I could drive home to the Midwest, a local told me "oh, this is a bad area." Can't argue with that. Next time I come down, I'll be staying a tthe Econolodge. By the way, the idiots who robbed me left $* worth of dive equpment in the car. Must not be divers.

03/26/2007The rates are reasonable. the room was clean, but the blanket was soiled. sheets, pillows,and towels okay. the bathroom was old and needed cleaning. evidence of mildew in tiles. ...

Microwave and refrigerator was nice to have and the T.V. was very good. The Continental breakfast needs upgrading - it is very sparse."

Hardly worth it
Linens not clean, blankets soiled, bathroom filthy and mildewed, shower curtain very used and filthy. room smelled stale, ac inadaquate to cool room, smoke detector beeped all night.
