I stayed here in December of 2010 while looking for housing for my relocation to Austin. I am a hotel snob and usually stay in hotels at least 5 times per year. If you have business, family or friends in Northwest Austin then this is the hotel for you. The property is brand new and located right off the Highway 183 Lakeline Mall exit. There is a Super Target and Panera Bread across the street, and every other store you would ever need, including a mall, is within 5 minutes driving distance. When you walk into the hotel, you can see right away that La Quinta is working HARD to earn business traveler loyalty. The staff is very friendly and full of suggestions, the decor is very clean and modern (IKEA style) and there is a station of three computers with internet access and printers in the lobby. Adjacent to the lobby is the complimentary HOT breakfast area. In the morning this area is buzzing with happy guests who can choose from hot items like eggs, bacon, and oatmeal, and cold items like cereal, fresh fruit, and pastries. The coffee is good quality, and my favorite part is the Texas-shaped waffle iron which makes very tasty waffles. The rooms are large and provide lots of living/work space. I appreciated the free high-speed internet and built-in refrigerator. Overall, this hotel is clean, new, friendly, and a great value. Even if it costs an extra $20/night or so more than nearby options, the free breakfast, free internet access, and in room fridge for keeping snacks will more than make up for that. Now that I live in Austin, this hotel is where I plan to send all my visiting friends and family.
