I have been staying in Rawlins off and on for the past 27 years traveling between Nebraska and the Pacific Northwest. This was my first time staying at any Microtel hotel and odds are that this will not be my last. This was probably my best Rawlins stop-over ever. I have stayed in some of the high end hotels and a couple of the cowboy motels back in the 70s. Very few have compaired to this stay. The room was clean and comfortable and I think this was one of the first hotels I have ever stayed at that had a window seat. True, the view was not the best (highway and Wyoming grassland). But my 11 year old son enjoyed the view and reclining in the window to watch TV. And he did enjoy the view as he saw some pronghorn antelope. The best part was the breakfast. As the previous review stated, it was more than expected and it tasted great. We ate late (9:40 a.m.); yet there was still plenty of food and it was hot and delicious. My only complaint was with myself as I did not have enough stomach room to go back for seconds. The two staff that I spoke with were extreamly friendly. I did not feel that I was just one of the crowd passing through thier doors. Bottom line, if you are traveling on I-80 through Wyoming and needing a place to stay for the night, you could do worse than this hotel and you would be hard pressed to do better. Nice benefits of a new hotel; the pillows were full and plentiful. Room came with a mini-fridge and microwave oven. The air conditioner also worked great. This is a pet friendly hotel (i.e. dogs up to 30 pounds).

I just checked out of the hotel. This is a hidden gem in Rawlins, WY. Not only was it clean and quiet, but i found the staff to be completely wonderful. The continental breakfast is far more than your average danish and coffee. They have bisquits and gravey, omllets, country potatoes, bacon, sausage, cold cereal, hot cereal. It was great. Thanks Microtell of Rawlins for an outstanding experience.
