We booked a night a week before Christmas on our way home from a hard week of doing repair work for relatives. A wedding ceremony/reception was booked and we did not get the type of room requested when our reservation was made. We tried to take a nap but were awoken by bagpipes outside our window. We tried to watch TV, but TV did not work. We told the front desk that we wanted to leave and stay elsewhere. They said they would just cancell our reservation. There was so much going on with the wedding that we didn't trouble them for a cancellation number/documentation. Well, we got billed. My husband spoke with the manager, ABC, and said he just talked in circles and didn't get any where. I called, got the run around, directly asked him if we were going to get our money refunded or not, and was told I was being out of line and rude because he worked 120 hours the previous week. I suggested that he check the room service logs to see that our linens were not changed and to check the hotel we transferred to in order to verify we spent the night elsewhere. ABC was not open to that. He said he would call back in 3-4 days to give us a final answer; the call back did not happen. We asked our credit card company to review this situation. Mr. ABC, we came to your hotel because we had a hard week, were tired, and wanted to get some rest before another day of driving. I resent the fact that you feel others do not work as hard as you do and we will less likely to trust someone to follow through on their word.
