This is a beautiful Hotel with real bad management. My family and I stayed at this hotel the last week in December. Our room had furniture that looked like it came from walmart bargin room. it was all broken up as a matter of fact when my daughter sat at the desk she fell because the chair leg was broken. it was stuck back in to make it look better.she bumped her head on the table that was all scuffed up.it was mad e of fake wood.I called the front desk only to get "we are real busy so you will have to deal with the broken chair. NO I'M SORRY".she also said that the housekeeper that cleaned it didnt do a good job because she smelled it as well. When we went to dinner the first night the service was horible. we waited for over an hour for someone to take our order. when we got our food the potatos we frozen in the middle. (that can only mean that they were not fresh, they were frozen). I actually had to walk it to the bar to be able to get it sent back because every time I waved a waitress she would ignore me. the steak was like leather and there was a hair in my gravy.(made me vomit) we decided to eat some were other than the hotel. We were talking to another family in the lobby and they said they have had horrible service also and that they would NEVER COME BACK. WAIST OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful hotel, amazing views and clean rooms. However, service was terrible. It took at least 15 minutes to get served at the bar every time! Long waits (30 -45 mins) for dinner at the tavern and breakfast where no reservations where accepted. Tissues, toilet paper and shampoo not replenished in the room. Dirty guest bathrooms in common areas. It was a busy weekend and the hotel staff did their best working non stop, but there was not enough staff to accommodate the number of guests. I would give this hotel another chance because of its location and beauty, but never on a busy holiday weekend again.

My husband and I stayed three nights at this wonderful hotel/resort. We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision! This hotel sits high on a mountain and has the most breathtaking views. Not only are the views great ... but the folks who work there have a great point of view as well ... it's all about the guests and their comfort! Our room was very comfortable clean and quiet! Housekeeping service was outstanding. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in the main dining room and ate dinner twice in the Tavern and once in the main dining room. Regardless of where we ate, the presentation and attention to detail was as excellent as the food we ordered. We especially liked the choices in the Tavern ... there was simple fare (soup salad, pizza) or more substantial dinner offerings. Although we were not traveling with children, we saw several families with theirs. I was impressed with the care given by the staff to accommodate young families ... In fact, I would love to return with my grandchildren! There's a playground as well as a working farm where children and adults can pet the animals and ask questions. My husband and I enjoyed talking to *** about the animals and the process of converting the animal fibers into a special blend yarn. My only disappointment was that the yarn had not come back from the mill yet … however, I am hoping to return to purchase a few skeins. There is even a movie theater .... I can immagine my grandchildren watching a Disney classic in there! We traveled several "loops" for leaf peeping" (routes provided by the staff) and always returned remarking that the best view of the foliage was right at our hotel. We were both quite happy to sit on the veranda and watch the mountains and the horse drawn carriage taking guests on drives. I can easily imagine the fun of a sleigh ride this winter! Even though this hotel is a historic beauty ... the new management has brought this hotel into the 21st century ... there's a wind tower on the property ... wireless Internet ... green products ... It was great to go to a place where everyone was so happy … both guests as well as staff! Just take a look at the website to convince yourself … look at their webcam as well! We hope to return to the Mountain View Grand.

This Hotel is the best you could ever imagine! It has tennis courts, 2 swimming pools, Spa, Farm with lots of friendly animals which the employees let you pet in the morning, horses and rabbits can be played with all day though, one day of your stay you get free breakfast every morning you can have coffee, tea, hot chocolate and more, golf courses, beautiful views, restaurants, giant chess boards, croquet, close to many different amusement parks, perfect at Christmas time and you can go to Santa's Village with your family, gym, bar, gift shops, movie theater with free popcorn and you can call the lobby and choose a movie from the list of over 500 movies and set what time and if it's available. If I could, I would live there all year long! There is also high-speed internet! AWESOME
