The ONLY good things about this hotel were the free wireless internet and how close it was to I-85. Other than that, the hotel was dirty, noisy, and the rooms were DISGUSTING!!! Our room had black 'X's all over the bathroom, the mirror was cracked and the room was falling apart (the baseboard, or whatever they were). My friend and I did not feel very safe at this hotel, but we were only there to sleep, thankfully. We stayed away as best as we could. Even if you get a "deal" here, it's not worth it. The people at the front counter, all except one, were rude and their after 7pm policy of entering through a side door (not the main) was completely nuts!!

This is a cheap hotel. It may be okay for a one night stay. We felt uneasy when we arrived to find the front door locked at both entrances (entrance from room side). No security. The room wasn't very clean, stained fabric chair and window seat. Toilet spit water all over you if you did not put the lid down. We only had 2 hand towels and one bath towel, but the front desk did give more when asked. Bed slept good, but we worried about stains on sheets, they smelled clean. Stay at your own risk, you really get what you pay for.

First the good. Nice people at the front desk, clean sheets and we didn't see any roaches (although that doesn't mean they weren't there). Now the bad...absolutely filthy. Carpet stained and dirty. Unknown stuff all over the walls. Paint splattered on the curtains. No screen in the window. Shower was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom, even with the shower curtain closed. Faucet in sink broken. Lock half broken. Tube in TV was dying so you could barely see the screen. Half the bulbs in the light above the bed were burned out. We were afraid to try the heater/air conditioner unit because it was caked with grime. Only soap...no shampoo or anything else. AND, they allowed smoking in their hotel, even though it is now against the law in North Carolina! We had a great experience at a Microtel in Beckley WV and were looking forward to to another positive experience. We were very disappointed. If this had been our first visit to a Microtel, we would never, ever go to one again. We recommend paying a little more and staying off of 77 near W. WT Harris Blvd., near the mall. Don't stay here. (P.S. - this area is a little seedy, too, so I'm not sure how safe it really is. We had no trouble, but there were many sirens).

I stayed for a week on business trip. it was really nice to stay and hotel is clean, safe, freindly staff. and the room rate was really affordable, cannot beat this rate compare to other hotel on same exit. I would recommond this hotel to stay and i definately would stay again in this hotel if i come to charlotte region again. troy washington,DC business traveler
