Very poor service at check in. The room smelled foul and was very stale. We were greeted upon arrival at our room by two seedy looking fellows drinking beer, smoking, and eyeing our possessions as we entered the room. The shower drained very slowly...may as well have taken a bath. No Air Conditioning in the rooms.

Older design with very little in the way of dresser space or closet space. One wall of room has full length bench; not sure what its original purpose was, but it works to set bags, etc. on. That being said, was clean, well maintained and quiet. Good location for accessing downtown Victoria and the waterfront. Front desk staff didn't seem to be as knowledgeable of the local area as I would have expected, though. I would steer clear of the attached restaurant, however. We went for dinner on a weeknight. There were only four other customers in the restaurant, yet it took nearly a half-hour for our order to be delivered. Our waitress disappeared for about twenty minutes midway during our meal. Also, the food wasn't that great. We did not eat another meal there, based on this poor experience.

Reasonable price. One block walk to Chinatown, 4 blocks to main tourist area. Within 1 block are routes 1 and 17, the main routes north and west. Restaurant open 24 hours. Meals are coffee shop type but one third the price of downtown. Recommend courtyard rooms.
