We had a great time at this hotel. Typically, "beachy" hotels are of so-so quality. Plantation was good value for the money. The room was large, had a flat screen HD TV, good AC, a fridge, pantry area, good sized bathroom and jetted tub. The bed we had was a king size. The only thing we didn't like were the pillows. They were very firm. Next time, we know to bring our own pillows. I recommend this hotel because it is near the beach, you get free breakfast, can bring your pets, it's quiet, not too expensive and we were treated very well. They have a pool and a hot tub too. We would go back here. Port A was great too, beach was clean, no oil, we just had a great time.

When we checked in, the front desk lady was very nice. Actually, she encouraged me to skip the online reservation process and call the hotel directly. I don't know what the rate might have been if I had done that; the sign on the room door indicated the regular rate was over $per day. I would never pay that much. Room was large and fairly comfortable. Air conditioning worked, and the bedding on the bed was nice. But.... Tile floors in the room give a sense of "cheap". No bath mat in the bathroom made the floor slick and dangerous when wet, and when we asked for extra towels AND a bath mat, none were delivered. The breakfast that "everyone raves about"? Pretty basic, actually. Maybe it's just that I don't like to eat out of plastic and paper. Orange juice had a weird taste, like out of a can. Toasters didn't all work right. But the thing I really didn't like at all was that when we went to check out, someone (staff member) had changed the room rate to $ higher per day. If I hadn't been careful to check this, or if I had just blindly signed the receipt, it would have cost me even more than it already did. I don't think it's okay to change the room rate like this, and the explanation was weak. For what I paid, I expected more and better.

We absolutely loved the stay @ the Plantation Suites & Conference Center. Everyone was very helpful and friendly even with assisting me when I had to go to the emergency room in Corpus Christi by giving me info on how to get there and asking that I check back in when we got back and then giving us a room on the first floor as I was unable to climb the stairs to our previous room. They even allowed us to leave some of our things in the first room so that my Husband didn't have to move everything till we were ready to pack the car the next day. In a rating of one to ten ten being the highest I would gladly give them a 12. Sincerely, Patricia & Neal Roberts
