I can't believe that the Point Plaza Suites got a 3.5 review. I feel they should get a full 5. The front desk staff were outstanding and assisted us with our every need. Thanks so much xyz Maintence staff ABC and XYZ went out of their way to make our stay easier. We stayed at this hotel while we were in town for the Hampton Jazz Festival and we had absolutely no problem getting on or off the interstate. The complimentary breakfast staff were very nice and we were very happy with the choices. The lobby was kept immaculate with roomy chairs, a fireplace, and two LCD televisions. Their was free coffee (which was very good coffee) and fresh baked Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter cookies. I would stay their again without hesitation. We had a chance to see the inside of the ballrooms/meeting rooms and they were beautiful. Housekeeping kept our room clean our entire stay. We could not have asked for a better stay and would gladly return. Only problem I had was with the business center. The room had no air circulation or ventilation and we could not stay in the room for too long a period. The pool was very clean and other than when children came in and started splashing it was very relaxing.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and while it doesnt look like much on the outside, the inside is very nice. Clean rooms, great free breakfast buffet, and a decent workout room. Staff is very friendly. The only bad part of my last stay was they only had smoking rooms available and I don't believe that was clear when I made the reservation. Otherwise a great value!

This hotel had reasonable rates, a nice breakfast buffet and comfortable beds. There was a used Q-Tip laying on the floor in the bathroom and the toilet did not always flush well, but overall it was a nice place and convenient to where we were spending most of our time.

Cons. Politely offered to help a buffet employee with her hands full, and was sarcastically rebuffed, and then denied another small request. The hotel advertised a restaurant and room service--bad enough the restaurant is closed, but I'm certain a restaurant that had room service doesn't have a food tray in the kitchen. I was dropping condiments all over the hotel trying to take breakfast back to my boyfriend. And the hospitality staff didn't offer any help when I contacted them, either. Also, the pool and several of the common areas were vandalized and ransacked by a large number of children and teens allowed to roam unsupervised. Not sure you can blame hotel for that exactly, but their is security, I couldn't go to the lobby and back in the elevator without being stopped on every floor by kids allowed to play with call button. And a large potted plant was broken pool side and wasn't cleaned up about 36 hours. But, otherwise--everything was as advertised. I read every review I could find, and it's not the cleanest place I ever stayed, and the furniture does show some age, and the neighborhood was kind of interesting with ducks and a rooster living just off the parking lot--but I liked it. The check-in was easy and the lady behind the desk very warm and friendly, the hotel guests seemed nice. It wasn't the Inn at Little Washington or The Greenbrier, and wouldn't be caught dead there, but I was pleased with my purchase and feel like I got my money's worth. Maybe the hotels on the Jefferson Street strip were a little more centrally located, but Point Plaza is only a few miles from most everything.
