That this hotel is not really near the Galleria was not a major problem for me. But anyone booking it should also know that the room window air conditioner unit was one of the loudest I have seen, which droned out the noise from the major thoroughfare right outside my window. The room - and the hotel generally - are very run-down, the bed sheets were not ironed (which makes you question whether they were washed!). Overall, a very disappointing experience.

In summary this hotel had high-end prices ($***) and low end service. Beds were not made at 4:30 pm. Hotel staff was rude and unhelpful. Online travrl website customers were treated as lepers. Hotel would not provide statement to confirm rate and actual cost. Although this area was recovering from hurricane Ike, this is no excuse for the problems we found.

This hotel was pretty old asthetically speaking and didn't have too many amenities. The King Bed room didn't have a microwave or refridgerator, as stated in the hotel details. Location is questionable as you have to go out of your way to get to any decent restaurants. Overall maybe 2.5 stars at best.

Lobby was clean and that was about it. Got to the room after 40 minutes to check in because they did not have us as checking in that day. They were polite but rood. It was like a heat wave stepping off of elevator. The elevator doors did not close completely so you could see out as you were going up to your floor. Room was not what we ordered. Did not have refrigerator nor microwave that we requested. When we finally got them the refrigerator did not work and the microwave stunk. We were told we had to leave the room for an hour so housekeeping could make the beds. Half of the gym equipment was broken. Pool was alright but not easy to get to. Had to go down a set of stairs outside from second floor to get to pool. The stairs were rusty and unsafe. No water presser in the bathroom. the toilet leaked. The air conditioner did not cool the room and parts were falling off of it. Private things in room were moved by housekeeping. Nothing was taken just played with. I will not stay there again. It was just hot, dirty, and an over all unsafe feeling.
