It is a good value for *$/night though the breakfast is not free unless staying more than 4 days. The room is clean and well maintained. Reasonably close to most San Diego attractions.

Second time here. Looks like they've had a remodel. Nothing fancy but a nice place to bed down in, fridge and microwave are hard to come by for the price they ask. Not to far from the airport. About 35$ by cab FYI.

We stayed there over the weekend and had a great time. It's in a good location. The rooms are a little old but still very comfortable. We will be staying there from now on when we go to San Diego. Only thing I had to complain about was the check in time. We arrived 3 hours early and they couldn't check us in till it was time. The plus side is we ended up going to Mission Beach to wait. Had a great time.

Ramada Hotel at Kearny Mesa, This is my second time staying at this hotel, I stayed here back in 2006 on a layover weekend while traveling. Was not impressed back then. I stayed here more recently in August 2009 and found nothing at all has changed except the bedding on the beds. Tips here for you if you have to stay know upfront if you use any WEBSITE TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS that you still must come up with a deposit for your room. This must be charged to a credit card or a debit card. Now to The Ramadas defence all hotels do this but these days a lot of us don't use credit cards. If you use a debit card they have to run the card charge you and then give you a return/ refund after you stay is complete. This is to cover any long distance or damage to your room. In most cases it is not a big deal but if you didn't plant for out of pocket at the time and you are short on cash or don't have a card it could be. My stay this visit started off with a very Rude Customer Service agent at the front desk who was not willing to explain nor work with the deposit situation. She interrupted my conversation with my family members in a rude manner and was unsupportive, I was on the edge of asking for a Supervisor when I realized that she in fact was the Supervisor. My room had a leak at the toilet and I would have asked for another room but it was late and I was tired. This is the Last time I am staying here, best thing here was the breakfast all you can eat.

First, the hotel is currently undergoing a renovation. We booked a room with a king bed for 2 nights. We didn't end up staying the second night. The room wasn't too bad, it was a good size, they were replacing the furniture (the renovation). It had a 32 inch tube tv. We were kind of annoyed that you couldn't check in before 3PM, again due to the renovation. Also the hotel restaurant is only open for dinner and breakfast. We didn't check out the pool. The bed was actually really comfortable and so were the pillows. There was a very stained chair in our room. Also, the shower head was designed for someone 5'5''. I am only 5'7'' and i had to kneel a little to wash shampoo out of my hair. They did have a lot of hot water though. The shower in our room was a stall shower, no tub. They had a hairdryer, coffeemaker, ironing board, iron, alarm clock, AC, phone, mini fridge and microwave, which was nice since there is no continental breakfast. Unfortunately, when we were getting ready to head to the zoo, I saw a cockroach cross the floor. I've never seen these at hotels and don't know if there would be a bunch of them there, but for me that was a deal breaker and we left after only 1 night despite the comfy beds. The only other comment would be that the rooms are a little bare. No art, mirrors, fake plants, or paint. Maybe they will update this with the renovation too though. It also seemed to take a while for them to check people in. There are restaurants nearby, close to freeway but very little traffic noise. Theres a gentlemen's club down the street so i don't know how good the neighborhood is.
