We stayed 5 nights and we had a wonderful time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and were very clean. The only change I would suggest is to perhaps vary the breakfast items every so often. After 3 days of the same exact items, we opted to skip breakfast. It is a bit of a walk into downtown, but not too far. Because it is not right in town, you can enjoy peaceful, quiet evenings sitting on the balcony enjoying the river. For the money, you really cannot go wrong. We also liked the fact that we were able to park our car underground and didn't have to worry about it. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I just spent one night in this motel, but were really pleased. The rooms are clean, the staff is pleasant, and the location isn't too bad, though it is a bit of a walk to where all the action is. Of course, walking in the fresh mountain air is rarely a bad thing. Having the river right out front of your room is also nice, though it was a bit noisy that night because there were incredible storms in the area and the river was running full. By morning, it was back to a low, pleasant roar. The place is a bit dated, but still has all the major conveniences one would look for in a one or two night stay. The covered parking can be a plus. If you aren't stuck on being right in the middle of the action and don't mind a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center, then we highly recommend this place. As a note, when coming into Gatlinburg from the Smokies, you pretty much have to drive all the way through the town to get to the hotel. It is located on the left, and the sign at the street says ""Rocky Waters Motor Inn"" -- the old name. It is across the street from Hillbilly Golf, which is great fun for kids.
