My stay started out with some snags. My requested room was locked-in prior to my arrival and double confirmed. To my surprise and disappointment upon arrival, my room was not available. I was told by Larry that it was given to a "platinum" member. Big mistake! One should never be told that their confirmed locked-in room was given to another guest and certainly without prior knowledge. I once reviewed this hotel as a potential contender for a four-star status; however, this was based on a big fish in a 3 and ½-star hotel pond. These kinds of careless mistakes simply can not be tolerated if you want to hold yourself out as a 4-star hotel. This is not a 4-star hotel by comparison. 4-star hotels have designer toiletries, bath towels long enough to wrap around your body and stay up, robes, slippers, room safes, and restaurants that do not increased its rate 100% without a complimentary discount for hotel guests, particularly, when several hotels within walking distance extend discount offers, one a 25% and another 50% to its guests. This could be one of the reasons this in-house restaurant doesn't attract patrons; each time I have been there it’s virtually empty, no matter the hour. I don't mean to come across negatively, but the facts are the facts. Please use this as an improvement tool to make modifications. The staff is efficient and does a great job of following up. My suggestion would be to discount the food prices to lure hotel guests to visit the restaurant. The Galleria area has a multitude of great eateries with competitive pricing, one four-star hotel two doors down offers a 25% discount of the total restaurant bill and another adjacent hotel offers 50% off, both within walking distance. Will be remodeled soon.

My stay started out with some snags. My requested room was locked-in prior to my arrival and double confirmed. To my surprise and disappointment upon arrival, my room was not available. I was told by ABC that it was given to a "platinum" member. Big mistake! One should never be told that their confirmed locked-in room was given to another guest and certainly without prior knowledge. I once reviewed this hotel as a potential contender for a four-star status; however, this was based on a big fish in a 3 and a half star pond. Rating this hotel as a 4-star is a gross injustice to all affected by this misconception. Comparing apples-to-apples, this hotel does hold its own with other 3-1/2 star hotels in the area; however, it falls short in terms of amenities provided by 4-star hotels. I strongly urge the Sheraton Suites to keep the rates low enough that guests may not complain about this inflated star rating. Most of the front desk agents are responsive and professional. The bar area is empty, very few patrons, and over-priced. I would suggest having a happy-hour time to increase business, providing discounted food and drink specials.

The Sheraton Suites Galleria is now my unhidden gem. I've stayed in every 4 and 5-star hotels in the Galleria area. The Sheraton's candle burns as bright or brighter than its competition. Firstly, the front desk agent, ABC, is a swift professional with the check-in process. I noticed Monei Lesalsa working next to him handling another guest, but was willing to join in if needed. Great team-work! Julio at the bar does a great job of multi-tasking. My room was clean, spacious, fresh and welcoming. The housekeeper noticed my "Do Not Disturb" sign as I exited my room, and she graciously offered me fresh flowers and chocolates to be displayed on my bed as part of their reguar bed turn-down service. I further noticed delicious cookes for the taking, in the elevator area. With more than a 90% occupancy rate, there was no parking issues. Also, I must mention XYZ, night agent, and the knowledgeable, ABC for their warm and frendly assistance in making my next booking at the Sheration Suites Galleria a certainty. Reviewed by BD.
