Yuma is a destination you have to plan early to get a great hotel. Out of the hotels that were offered, I chose Shilo. I have stayed in this Shilo before, it is at least clean. Other Shilo's that I have stayed in are great hotels. This one is a bit rundown. We had some firebugs in our room. The decor is outdated. The beds were not comfortable, the pillows needed to be replaced years ago. The manager of the breakfast area was rude. At exactly 10 o'clock she came in and started to close down breakfast, including turning off the tv. I told her I would like to watch the news and she said that she was closing it down. I let her know I was not checking out and that I was not finished with my breakfast and I turned the tv back on. She became angry and slammed the door. I complained to the front desk manager. I will be sure to seek earlier accomodations next time, some place else.

On the whole, excellent facilities and very good value for the money. The associated bar and restaurant we would rate as poor, incredibly noisy and with very limited menu options, especially considering the excellent restaurant that was there a few years ago. The complimentary breakfast was average, compared with the excellent breakfast of a few years ago. When it cycled on, the room air conditioner was noisy enough to wake one up and produced a blast of cold air. The Shilo is still a good place to stop on a trip from California to southern Arizona.
