I stayed in this hotel two separate times on a recent vacation. The first time was on a Friday night, and I was on the third floor. I was traveling with my dog, so I had to climb three flights of stairs several times...not good on the knees! The room was modest but functional. When I checked out, they had the housekeeper check my room for dog hair before I could leave, which I thought was a bit obsessive. Anyway, I liked the hotel enough to make a reservation for the next week on my return trip, and I asked for a lower floor. They were very accommodating, and I had a first floor room. What a difference two floors makes! The first floor room was damp and and not as clean as the third floor. I gather that the third floor is only used after the first two floors are full, which would explain the difference in the furnishings. The room had a recliner, which I was excited about until I sat in it and saw the stains on the arms. The desk chair seat was also stained, and one of the pillows didn't look so clean, either. The carpet felt damp when walking on it, and there was a dehumidifier in the hallway. There were bugs (at least they were dead) in the bathroom. Bottom line....if you stay here, stay on the third floor! I checked that I'd stay here again because of the price and location, but I won't take a room on the first floor again.

We had a great stay here! Was it as luxurious as a high class hotel? Of course not. But we didn't expect that when we booked at Super 8. We got exactly what we expected: a great room at a great price with a very friendly, helpful staff. In fact, the desk clerk gave us some great suggestions of places to visit and things to do! The room was clean, the bathroom had a fan (very important to us!), we were comfortable and slept well, and the motel was very conveniently located. We had our dogs with us, and they enjoyed the stay too! The breakfast is a bit spartan, but completely adequate for a good start to your day. There is a great Mexican restaurant next door too! There were several weather warnings while we were there, but we felt secure because the first floor is partially underground. We will definitely go back!
