I depend on reviews to help select hotels when we travel. The positives of this Super 8 was that it was cheap and right on I-35. The room was very dated and not very clean. Mildew all around the shower and air conditioner. The floor was not clean at all and we kept on flip flops the whole time (I am not one of those overly fussy types on the floor issue--this floor was just not clean). The bedding (sheets and blanket) were very old with holes, although were clean. The pillows were disgusting inside the pillow case although the pillow case was clean. Ice machine had no ice and looked like it did not work. Desk staff (except for one) could not speak English therefore could not get driving instructions. The one desk staff that did speak English was condescending perhaps this is his nationality trait and we mistook it for condescension. There was free cable tv which my daughters enjoyed. The sign in front of the hotel boasted new, renovated rooms. We certainly did not have one. Hotel was not very full. Breakfast was very meager although enough for myself and my daughters, would not have been enough if my husband had been traveling with us. I had low expectations for this hotel due to the reviews of others, but condition was even worse than anticipated. On the other hand, it was very cheap and right on the interstate for site seeing (was noisy in room due to being right next to interstate). I would pick something else if I were to return to San Antonio.

I just spent 6 nights in this hotel after using this and other review sites to pick this hotel. Clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast, my room had a fridge and microwave, pool was immaculate, room safe for $1.50 extra a night...can't say enough good stuff. It is a bit far away from any downtown attractions, but it is worth the travel in my opinion. The location is very safe. It is in a buisness district, so not many people around besides those staying at the hotel. It is located right next to the freeway; I am a light sleeper and it really wasn't that bad. I was never disturbed by the neighboring rooms either. I don't think you will be disappointed if you pick this hotel. It is a very nice place to stay for the money. Even has an inside hallway.
