Arrived late in the evening and frontdesk was very helpful in assigning the best room we needed. Frontdesk service was very helpful throughout the stay and gave excellent city recommendations. The room service was good. The hotel is located in very easy walking distance to the park, lake, museums & planiterium. A real value hotel.

I am nearing my second year at a community college in Missouri and I decided to transfer to Chicago to finish out my degree. I was looking for a cheap place to stay and Travelodge was the only place around the heart of Chicago with a lower end price tag. If you go expecting an amazing room with the freshest of everything you should come up with some more money. I went up with terrible expectations but it really wasn't a bad stay. I arrived in Chicago at 6 am the day of my check in and they let me into my room. That was amazing, they were very polite and helpful. There wasn't free parking but I didn't drive anyway. The room was tiny (one double bed, a desk, a old tv, and a nice bathroom) but manageable. I honestly wasn't planning on staying in there too much during my trip. When I opened the curtains to see the view, it was visible but I had to look through tons of spider webs and quite dirty windows. Oh well, the view was still nice, overlooking Wabash. The floor looked like it could be vacuumed and the room (aside from the bathroom) looked like it had seen better days. Renovations are costly, I know but nothing in the room even matched. Honestly that's just nit-picky. The bed was comfortable and I slept like a rock. They brought towels quickly. Upon leaving, there was a charge to hold bags which was better than lugging them around Chicago. The people were still polite. I would stay again as long as I got a cheaper rate. The place was ok but for what I paid for, it was still a little pricy. I loved the location, couldn't have been better.

It was in a great location, close to bus and metro stops. The staff was friendly and helpful, we left our bags at the hotel the day we left, since we weren't flying out until later and they were great about that. It is an older hotel, but the elevators weren't bad and the rooms were fine, a little dated, but we were only sleeping there, not hanging out. There is a Dunkin'Donuts across the street, nice for a quick breakfast. There are also two restaurants attached to the hotel, but we never tried either. I would stay again, as I'd rather save on lodgings and spend on something else while traveling, as long as its clean!

We were at this hotel for a 3 night stay and ended up checking out after 2 nights. Can't begin to say how dirty this hotel was. The carpets were never cleaned and the furniture was old and outdated. We've stayed at a few "budget" hotels in our travels...but this takes the cake. Don't expect water pressure in the bathroom and everything just felt dirty. The front desk staff were friendly, but thats about it. We got no refund for the last night stay, but didnt care as we checked into another hotel down the street to get some rest.

Air not that great and the train right out the window not that great but for the cost its in a great loaction. Also the elevators were so slow and small. But once again for the cost and location very happy.
