I go to Westins for the bed, but stay for the amenities. This Westin was jammed with amenities; excellent view, salt water pool, river side location, river-view hot tubs, excellent spa (relax room is not the best) service was wonderful, excellent work out facility (also with view) wonderful food in the restaurant. I especially enjoyed the large patio outside of the restaurant to enjoy the view, fresh air and great food.

This hotel was perfect for our visit to downtown Denver. Everything was in walking distance. We had reservations at Lannie's Clocktower which was right next door so this made it even better. I have stayed at other hotels in Denver but this was one of the best.

We decided to try the Westin in Avon. Big Mistake. From the moment we arrived, this hotel has been a disaster. When we walked into the lobby, we were immediately halted by a group of five boys that were running full speed through the lobby playing lacrosse. IN THE LOBBY. The Concierge, who was sitting right there, did nothing. He also said nothing. He did not greet us, nor did he welcome us to the property. When we got to the front desk, the check-in was standard, but again, not friendly, and definitely no "welcome to the Westin" or any such greeting. While we were checking in, another group of boys ran by tossing lacrosse balls back and forth. It was a dangerous liability for the hotel. I was amazed that not one member of the staff said a word. When I spoke up, asking the young lady behind the front desk (3:30pm on 06/23/2010) why there were no adults supervising the children, she got very defensive and angry and said, "Oh they are never without adult supervision." I assured her that this was the second time in twenty minutes that we had witnessed a group of kids under the age of twelve running through the lobby. She ignored me and starting typing. When I called to check on our breakfast that was twenty minutes late, XYZ (06/24/10 7:20am) Was not only condescending and rude, but she proceeded to inform me that I had not read the dining card, which "clearly states that the kitchen does not open until 7am" even though the card gave the option of having breakfast delivered at 7am. I've never felt so disregarded.

Stayed Dec. 2009. A beautiful resort with excellent ,dining, spa, fantastic work out facilities, hair and nail salon all in the same building. Our large family rented a 3 bedroom unit that looked at the mountain. The kitchen facilities were better than home. The family enjoyed the lift and rental equipment practically within the hotel. There were 3 hot tubs as well as a lovely pool.
