Illinois Mega Millions Lotto
The Mega Millions Lotto is a multi-state lottery with eleven (11) other state lotteries participating with a starting jackpot of twelve million dollars ($12 million). With a jackpot that huge, it’s no wonder Mega Millions is one of the most popular multi-state jackpot lotteries around.
The Illinois Pick 3 lottery and Pick 4 lottery are very similar games. Both games are very exciting and easy to play. Both games also only cost fifty cents ($0.50) to play.
The Pick Lotto Results: They also share the same drawing times. Pick 3 lotto and Pick 4 lotto players can win cash prizes twice daily, Monday thru Saturday. On Sundays they can win too, just once. Unless they play both games and/or more than one play, that is. Drawings for Illinois Pick 3 and Pick 4 are conducted every night of the week at 9:22 p.m. and Monday thru Saturday at 12:40 p.m.
Pick 3 lotto players start by choosing three (3) numbers between zero and nine (0-9). Pick 4 players choose four (4) numbers. Both games have a Quick Pick feature, in which players can have their numbers selected at random by the computer. Players of both games must then select the type of wager they would like to play. Of the wagers they may choose from are Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo and Pairs. Pick 3 has nine (9) different ways to win and Pick 4 has thirteen (13) ways to win.
Playing a Straight in both games is pretty much the same and very straight forward (pun intended). Players must match all of the winning numbers in the exact order they were drawn. Pick 3 players who do that can win up to five hundred dollars ($500). Pick 4 players can win as much as five thousand dollars ($5,000).
Box plays are still fairly similar, but there are enough differences between games that I’ll go ahead and point them out. In both games, a Box play allows the player to match the winning numbers without them being in the exact order as they were drawn. In the Pick 3 lottery, players can win in two prize categories; a Box 3-Way or a Box 6-Way. The 3-Way Box requires that two of the winning numbers be the same. Match this and you could win as much as one hundred and sixty dollars ($160). A 6-Way Box means the winning numbers must be unique and can still be matched in any order. Winners in this category can sin as much as eighty dollars ($80). The Box plays in a Pick 4 lotto game are only a little different. There are mostly just more ways to win. There is the 4-Way, 6-way, 12-Way and 24-Way. These numbers refer to the number of ways to match the winning numbers. In 4-Way play, three of the winning numbers must be the same, but they can still be matched in any order. This winning combination has a cash prize of up to twelve hundred dollars ($1,200). The 6-Way requires the winning numbers be in two (2) pairs. Winners can take home as much as eight hundred dollars ($800). A 12-Way win has only two numbers in the winning numbers that are the same. The 12-Way cash prize is as much as four hundred dollars ($400). The 24-Way play can only win if all four of the winning numbers are unique. Winners can take home as much as two hundred dollars ($200).
Pick 3 lotto as well as Pick 4 lottery players can spice it up a bit by playing Straight/Box. Just like it sounds, the Straight/Box play combines the two wager types giving the player more ways to win. As with the Box plays above, the Straight/Box plays have just as many variables. In fact, because the two styles are combined, there are even more variables. In Pick 3, a 3-Way Straight/Box play will win three hundred and thirty dollars ($330) if the numbers match the winning numbers exactly. Matched in any order, the player could win eighty dollars ($80). A 6-Way Straight/Box won straight pays out as much as two hundred and ninety dollars ($290) while any order wins up to forty dollars ($40). In Pick 4, a 4-Way Straight/Box play won straight will win up to thirty-one hundred dollars ($3,100). Matched in any order can win six hundred dollars ($600). A 6-Way Straight/Box won Straight can win twenty-nine hundred dollars ($2,900) and in any order can win four hundred dollars ($400). A 12-Way Straight/Box won Straight wins twenty-seven hundred dollars ($2,700). The winning numbers matched in any order will pay two hundred dollars ($200). Players matching all the numbers in the exact order when all the numbers are different can win a 24-Way Straight/Box and win twenty-six hundred dollars ($2,600). If they match the winning numbers in any order, the cash prize is one hundred dollars ($100).
Combo play in both Pick 3 lotto and Pick 4 lotto are essentially the same as the Straight/Box plays except the players pay a larger wager and can therefore win larger prizes. A 3-Way combo in Pick 3 would cost up to three dollars ($3), but the prize will be as much as five hundred dollars ($500). A 6-Way Combo costs up to six dollars ($6), but you can also win as much as five hundred dollars ($500) this way too. Pick 4 Combo’s are pretty much just like that. A 4-Way Combo costs up to four dollars ($4). A 6-Way Combo costs up to six dollars ($6). A 12-Way Combo costs up to twelve dollars ($12) and a 24-Way Combo costs up to twenty-four dollars ($24). All of these Combo plays win up to five thousand dollars ($5,000).
Players must redeem all cash prizes within one hundred and eighty (189) days of the date of the drawing.
Illinois Numbers Now Lottery Game
For an additional dollar ($1) per play, Pick 3 lottery and Pick 4 lotto players can play their same numbers in an instant lottery. A set of random numbers is drawn when you purchase your ticket. If your numbers match the Numbers Now numbers, you could win instantly. Numbers must match exactly to win a cash prize.
