California Hotel

The California Hotel is located smack dab in downtown Las Vegas. It’s been around for decades. The gaming floor of the California hotel is smaller than the newer hotels, but it’s a great place. There are some great restaurants at the California Hotel. The hotel offers both free parking and valet parking. The second floor has many specialty stores and a great place to grab lunch. The first thing you will notice upon entering the California Hotel is the large amount of Hawaiian and Asian people there.

The California Hotel does a lot of promotion in Hawaii and as a result, it’s really the place with the most concentration of Hawaiians. In fact, the entire feel of the California hotel is of a tropical island. The California Hotel prides itself on what it calls the “Aloha Spirit”. They claim you will feel it right away and you will. The California Hotel offers over 800 rooms to guests. It’s located right by the Fremont Street Experience. A quick one minute walk and you are right there enjoying the shows.

If you want to visit the Las Vegas strip, you can drive or take a taxi and be there within 10 minutes usually. The city’s CAT bus terminal is a couple blocks from the California Hotel. The buses run all over the city, including right down the Las Vegas Strip. Be warned that if you take a bus from downtown to the Las Vegas Strip during a busy time, the trip can be very long. That’s because there are many stops along the way. A bus ride from the downtown hub to the middle of the Las Vegas Strip could take up to an hour or so.
