Tropicana Las Vegas Poker Room

Impressions: Last weekend I played here after a session the day before at Wynn's, and, while it might be like playing golf at your local muni after a round at Pebble Beach, they both do have their moments. Golf is golf & so is a good game of poker. Everything here is clean and in decent shape. The people are friendly, there are nice TVs to watch the sports events, no smoking, and I won a few bucks. If you wish a nice quiet room, no frills, you will enjoy this room.
Atmosphere: The room, while small, seemed spacious, because there were only a few tables going at any one time when I have played here, about 3 times. The quality of chairs and tables are OK, not plush, but serviceable.
Dealers: I was lucky, in that I got competent dealers at my tables, whenever I have played there. There was one occasion when a dealer seemed distracted, and made an error on a pay-off, but it was brought to his attention, he corrected it to the satisfaction of the players, and it did not happen again. These things happen, but the dealers here are OK.
Food: One time I was here, they must have been short handed, because the service was slow and incompetent. The other times all was OK. I am not a big drinker, and never eat while playing, so this is not a priority for me.
Service: Small room, never too many players, so waiting is never a problem. Management has always been welcoming and polite. One time, a drunk had to be handled at another table, and they removed him gently and quickly, without a distraction to the room. That can be tricky.
Comps: I did not notice any, as this is not something that interests me. If I was a frequent customer I might take advantage.
