Overview

Part of Golden Nugget Las Vegas

The Golden Nugget has a brand new, 13-table, non-smoking poker room.  The room is fully enclosed with no outside distractions.  Brand new tables and chairs (rollers) make this room very comfortable.  For a smaller room,  it is nicely outfitted with 6 plasma screens and auto shufflers on the tables. Flat-panel TVs are placed above each table and display tournament information. Tables are also equipped with phone chargers. Various levels of live cash poker games are available from beginner low limits to pro-level No Limit action. Impressions: What a beautiful room! I understand that it was redone some months ago. It is about as pretty a room as there is in Vegas. It only has 10 tables, and is probably what a gambling room of the old west would look like. I cannot wait to go back, as I had a great few hours of poker with some nice guys. Not a high roller crowd when i was there, so not too much pressure.
Atmosphere: The furniture is new and snazzy. The room is small, but very comfortable. Only beef is that it is close to bar, my table was not far from entrance and I could have done without some of the smoke emanating from bar. Next time I will try to sit away from entrance of room.
Dealers: The dealer at my table was very knowledgable and friendly. He kept games going smoothly and handled a few minor disputes quickly and to the player's satisfaction.
Food: Being close to bar made for quick service, and the waitresses were attentive and polite.
Service: I was seated very quickly after the manager gave me a run down on the games and limits. They use a paper list system as well as a paper tournament signup, which seemed appropriate for the size of this room.
Comps: Meal Comps were offered for those playing a few hours.
