Update: Rivers Casino Chicago will not be happening. 

In May 2022, Bally's Corporation beat out two other bids, one from Hard Rock to build a casino just west of Soldier Field, and one from Rivers, which would have built a casino in the South Loop, for the city's sole casino license. The casino will be located on the site of the Tribune Publishing Center in River West.

3/2022: Proposed for the South Loop neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, plans for Rush Street Gaming's, $2 billion Rivers Casino so far include a 300-key hotel, riverfront venue and plaza with observation deck, eight restaurants, cafes and a food hall, five bars and lounges and 2,600 slots and 190 table games. Rush Street Gaming is one of three companies — the others being Hard Rock International and Bally’s — that have presented five total proposals to the Windy City for its downtown casino license.
