Impressions: was glad to find $1-5 stud an old favorite of mine i rarely see most places. floorlady on duty was very friendly and nice.
Atmosphere: on the bottom floor of a riverboat, but good sized room. bathroom is far away. drinks are far away too, but they have m&m's sitting out and little fish cheese crackers.
Dealers: no everyone was pretty nice.
Food: its a ways off to get ur own free drinks, but u can always tip the waitress if u prefer instead. u can order food in the restaurant with a food comp they will give u and bring it to the poker room and eat it at the table if u like.
Service: i had to wait a little while to play stud, about 1 hr, but sometimes u get right in, holdem players get seated easier. good $1-2 NL holdem games, also a PL high only omaha on a certain day, and a PL $10-20 HILO game a certain day too, dont remember which days, i dont play that high. wish i did.
Comps: yeah everyone gets a comp pretty easy. they have a hotel across the street also. (its about $50). as long as u are gambling that is.

Impressions: There is only one redeeming factor at Casino Aztar, the players are terrible. I mean these are some of the worst poker players on the planet.
They have 12 or 15 tables and they only place I know that spreads $1-5 stud with no ante. It is also the only place I know that spreads Omaha 8 on a regular basis. Every Tuesday, they spread $10-20 O/8with a full kill and it is a wild game, giant pots, giant suckouts and lots of action. I understand that on Wednesday, they spread a Pot limit Omaha game that is pretty soft.
Their normal games are $5-10 Holdem and a small NL game. I don't have much information on what they spread because I only go about once a month and that is on Tuesdays for the O/8 game.
Dealers: Slowest dealers on the planet, the players are the most unhappy group of individuals I have ever met. The players are permanently pissed off and complain about everything. They don't even wait for something to complain about, they start complaining about something that they perceive might happen.
