The Sonoma County Fair in Santa Rosa, California has held horse races since 1936. More than two weeks of live racing begin in late July and run through the middle of August. Of course, the Jockey Club offers satellite wagering year round. The Jockey Club is wine country's only year-round simulcast facility.
The surroundings are plush with 20,000 sq ft of featuring 8 big screens and more than 50 other televisions covering everything from races at Northern California fairs to the Kentucky Derby and Breeder Cup.
Typical Jockey Club Hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 10:30 - a.m. until 10:30 p.m. If a Monday falls on a holiday you'll probably find the Jockey Club open then as well.
