Hard Rock International is making a confident long-term play in the Caribbean with its newly announced Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan, an $850 million resort scheduled to debut in 2029. Revealed on Feb. 5, 2026, the project brings together development partners Misla Hospitality, Stonecrest Investment Management, and The Interfin Companies, with construction expected to begin by mid-2026.

Hard Rock’s first hotel, casino, and branded residence development in Puerto Rico will be situated between San Juan Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The resort will include roughly 415 guest rooms, 58 suites, and 186 branded residences, while amenities will include multiple dining concepts, bars, three terrace-level pools, the Rock Spa®, and a full fitness center. Families are clearly part of the target audience, with kids’ clubs, arcades, and teen spaces built into the design.

Music is central to the concept, with dedicated event venues, a recording studio, and curated memorabilia woven throughout the property. Notably, it is planned as Puerto Rico’s first fully integrated casino resort, aiming to deliver a seamless blend of gaming, entertainment, dining, and relaxation.

Located near Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and steps from Old San Juan, the resort is being positioned as more than just another beachfront resort. Designed by Klai Juba Wald alongside CMA Architects, the property leans heavily into San Juan’s musical roots and cultural identity. Local artists will play a visible role in shaping the interiors, giving the resort a sense of place rather than a copy-and-paste luxury feel.
