The Daily 3 Lotto Game
The California Daily 3 lottery is a pari-mutuel game where the number of players determines the prize pool results and the cash prize is split between the lotto winners relative to the amount played. The more lotto players in a game the larger the prize pool. Daily 3 lottery tickets are one dollar ($1) per play and players can play their chosen numbers for up to fourteen (14) consecutive drawings. Drawings are held twice daily. Be sure to check for winning number results.
How to Play: Daily 3 lotto players begin by purchasing a ticket at their local California lottery retailer. Players can either get a Quick Pick where the computer chooses the numbers or the player can choose three numbers from zero to nine and a playstyle (straight, box or straight/box). Note: If the player does not choose a playstyle, the computer will automatically choose a straight playstyle.
A straight playstyle requires that the three numbers chosen by the player be drawn in the same order to win. A box playstyle allows the player two chances to win. Either you can match all three digits in any order or match two numbers, one of them in duplicate. Straight/box playstyle allows the player to win with a straight or box match. Note however that by choosing straight/box playstyle, the amount played is split between the two playstyles and the winnings are respectively smaller proportionately.
The odds of a player winning with a straight playstyle are one in one thousand (1:1,000). The odds of a player winning playing a box playstyle, matching two numbers and one of them in duplicate are one in three hundred and thirty-three (1:333).
