Macau Canidrome Review
You will find greyhound racing available at the Canidrome for those over 18 years of age. Racing begins at 7:30pm pm all nights except Wednesday and Friday. Public admission is MOP$10. The Canidrome actually opened in 1931 but closed in by 1938. It reopened in 1963.
There is a very good article here on the history and future? of the Canidrome in Macau.
Gaming at Macau Canidrome
Macau Canidrome host nightly races on a 400 meter sand racetrack. Its been in operation for more than 50 years. Before the new gaming rule changes in Macau that require all slots to be with 500 meters of a casino or in an existing commercial complex you would find the Yat Yuen Slots parlour here, too. The new rule changes shut down this slot hall and four others across Macau. (Mocha and SJM properties). The rule was created to help the gambling problem in residential neighborhoods.
But the races go on. The track is great, the vibe is relaxed, mostly regulars with occasional tourists here. Macau Canidrome is an SJM property.
